King of world beat, King Sunny Ade clocked 70 recently. King Sunny Ade held a party to mark the event in Houston. Adé was born in Ondo state. His father was a church organist, while his mother was a trader. Adé left grammar school in Ondo under the pretense of going to the University of Lagos. There, in Lagos, his mercurial musical career started and he rose to become among the most successful African musician. Kunle Afolayan and Dayo Adeneye led a host of other celebrities from around Africa and the world who trooped into Houston, America for the big gig.
