CHILDREN'S DAY 2024: LUFASI THRILLS THE KIDS

The Earth rejoiced with hope  as over one thousand children from various nativity across the globe  gather in the bossom of nature at LUFASI Nature Park to celebrate one glorious day set aside for the child.

The annual event which has become a beacon of hope and the centrepoint of joyful exhilarations for children every 27th of May, underscores the world Biodiversity Day 2024, as it expantiates on the theme:  "BE PART OF THE PLAN: HALT AND REVERSE BIODIVERSITY LOSS", and it witnessed  a plethora of activities that held the hosts, the children and nature glued together in perfect symphony.

Hosted by Uncle Desmond Majekodunmi, Africa's foremost preacher of Creation Care, the children came well prepared as they used every opportunity to enlightened the world of biodiversity loss and Climate change, two critical challenges threatening the great expectations their future holds.

According to The World Wide Fund for Nature's Living Planet Report, our planet has suffered a 69% average loss in the abundance of mammal, bird, reptile, fish and amphibian species since 1970. the report also noted that the populations of vertebrates living in freshwater Ḿ have declined even more, by 83% on average over the same period.

In the same vein, ecologists across the globe have continued to hammer on the naked fact that habitat loss remains the primary drivers of biodiversity loss as the conversion of forests, grasslands, wetlands and natural areas to urban use and farming, continues to drive more species into extinction.
