Marissa Teijo, at the age of 71, achieved a remarkable milestone by participating in the Miss Texas USA pageant. Over the weekend, she joined 74 other contestants in Houston, where Aarienna Ware ultimately claimed the crown on June 22. 

Teijo's presence stood out as she became the oldest contestant ever to compete in Miss Texas USA—a historic achievement confirmed by the organization itself¹². 

Her journey reflects the positive impact of recent rule changes that removed age limits and allowed women who are married, divorced, or pregnant to participate in the pageant.

 In an Instagram post, Teijo expressed her excitement and hope that her participation would inspire women to embrace their physical and mental well-being, recognizing beauty at any age.
